International Service Learning
Through responsible and well-designed service initiatives, our students will learn about pressing global issues and work to fight these problems through programs initiated at a local level. We seek out sustainable projects that will have a lasting impact in the communities we serve. Our students work alongside local community partners developing compassion and connecting with one another. Some of our more recent service-learning trips include Nepal, Peru, Cuba, Costa Rica, Vietnam, Dominican Republic, and Ecuador.
Study Abroad
Study abroad programs give our students the opportunity to use the world as their classroom. These programs not only fulfill academic goals, but also expose our students to other languages, cultures, and learning environments. We offer a chance to study art in Florence, Italy through Centro Firenze school every other summer (even years). We also have a study abroad exchange program based in London, England with the Tonbridge School (boys) and James Allen Girls School. These programs run every year and are open to rising sophomores.
Exchange Programs
Create lasting connections through immersive international exchanges. These trips allow students a chance to see what it is like to live in another country, and to host a student from abroad. Get to know people from another country, experience their culture first hand, and live like a local; all things that tourists often miss. Learn about the complexities and subtleties of a way of life that is entirely different than your own. Recent Berkeley exchange programs include Beijing, China, Perpignan, France, and London, England.
