Berkeley Preparatory School is located in the Town n’ Country suburb of Tampa. Three entrances provide access to the 86-acre campus that features modern classrooms, a fine arts center, an arts and sciences center, world-class athletics facilities, makerspaces, and a 19,000-square-foot Steinbrenner Student Center.
The Anna Shimberg Center houses Gills Hall, the Treasure Cove and Divers Bookstore, and the Admissions offices. The Joseph A. Merluzzi Administration Complex contains the Advancement offices, Business office, and the Headmaster's office.
Two libraries provide research and reading material to all three divisions. The West Family Resource Center contains the Rudolph Library, which serves Pre-K through grade 5 and has approximately 16,000 titles in its collection and 15 electronic databases. The Jean Ann Cone Library and Frederick Learning Commons serve Middle and Upper Division students and have over 20,000 titles (including eBooks and print) and 40 electronic databases. Both libraries have online catalogs that provide global access.
In August 2015, Berkeley opened the Gries Center for the Arts and Sciences. This impressive 75,000-square-foot facility is home to the Middle and Upper Division visual and performing arts and Upper Division math and science. “The Gries” brings together math, science, and visual and performing arts to enhance an already world-class curriculum in a setting where students develop critical thinking skills through hands-on, interdisciplinary learning opportunities that prepare them to take on real-world challenges.
The arts program is enhanced by the Lykes Center for the Arts, a 809-seat performing arts center, which also includes a gallery for visual arts displays, a flex studio for dance and small drama productions, dressing rooms, and an orchestra pit.
Berkeley athletic facilities include the 53,000-square-foot Straz Family Field House, two gymnasiums, a swimming pool, a wrestling room, a weight room, a rock-climbing wall, a varsity level soccer field, a tennis complex, a high and low ropes course, a baseball and softball complex, and a stadium and practice fields for football, soccer, lacrosse and a state-of-the-art track.
The 11,000-square-foot Berkeley Café features a world-class dining experience with indoor and outdoor seating for more than 425. SAGE Dining Services provides lunch for Middle and Upper Division students daily from 11:30 - 1:15. Additionally, breakfast is served for Upper Division students and faculty.
As an Apple Distinguished School, the Doyle Technology Commons, home to the Technology Center, is an epicenter for creative integration of high-tech learning tools. Teachers and students visit the Laxer Family Technology Lobby and the Brownstein Family Instructional Room to explore the latest in instructional technology. The Technology Center is also a central location for all forms of support with digital technology. Student Technology Ambassadors and technology staff provide support in the Technology Center and across the Berkeley campus. The Technology Center draws students and teachers who wish to experience its rich variety of virtual reality devices and programable robots.
In August 2018, Lower Division opened the doors to the new Seivold Center for Early Childhood Education, a state-of-the-art learning environment, for grades Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1. In August 2022, the Forsyth Center for Elementary Education opened for students in grades 2-5 - thus completing the Dev Family Lower Division Complex. The Berkeley Chapel has anticipated opening in April 2023.
