Financial Aid

Berkeley Preparatory School is committed to enrolling a diverse and talented student body. We strive to make this educational experience accessible and affordable to all families regardless of their socio-economic status. Berkeley is fortunate to have much of its $4 million financial aid budget funded through the generosity of donors who have established named endowments in support of the financial aid program.

A NOTE ABOUT VOUCHERS

Berkeley Preparatory School does not accept any money from any governmental entity for any reason. To do so would potentially leave the school vulnerable to governmental interference, jeopardizing the independence we cherish. We encourage families with demonstrated financial need to apply for financial aid, which is funded at Berkeley in a variety of ways, though not through governmental subsidy.

Financial Aid Procedures

List of 4 items.

  • APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID

In determining need, Berkeley Preparatory School follows NAIS Principles of Good Practice. Financial aid awards are based upon FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment (FACTS) financial assessment of each applicant. It is important to note that Berkeley may not be able to accommodate all financial aid applicants in a given year. Complete applications and required documents received in the Admissions Office by the deadline will receive first priority relative to aid dollars available.

    • Deadline for Current Berkeley Students for the 2024-2025 School Year: December 31, 2023*
    • Deadline for New Families Applying to Berkeley for the 2024-2025 School Year: February 1, 2024*

*Financial aid applications received after the deadlines will be considered for our financial aid waiting pool.

All families applying for financial aid for the first time should contact Julia Loncar, Associate Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, by calling (813) 885-1673 or emailing loncajul@berkeleyprep.org.

Families currently receiving aid must submit a new financial aid application each year. If the financial circumstances remain the same, the school will make every effort to assist a family at the same level of aid.

Recognizing that each parent bears a responsibility for financing a student’s education, financial information from all family members is required.
