God as Mentor

The lesson from Isaiah is about how God will always be there for you, and that there is always some type of mentor for you. The lesson also has a quote that says “He will give rain for the seed with which you sow the ground.” This really connects to me because it reminds me of my grandma in New Mexico.

She is really kind and very pretty. In New Mexico she has this wonderful garden. When I go out to New Mexico every summer I always plant something with my grandma and we always have so much fun together. Planting with my grandma has taught me that  my grandma is my biggest mentor for me because she teaches me to grow in so many ways. It reminds me of this one story when we were on our way to a funeral up in the mountains, it was already rainy so it was very slippery on the mud. On our way up the mountain I felt the car come to a sliding stop. Me and my brother quickly glanced at each other knowing that all bad things will happen. Everybody was in complete terror. We all knew we were stuck in the mud. Everybody being chaotic I look across from me and see my grandma in complete peace. I asked her, "Why are you very calm?" She said, I know God is with us and will get us out safely.

I didn't really understand at the time but now I realize that she trusts that God can help us no matter what situation we are in. We all ended up figuring out that everybody got covid a week later. I am very grateful to still have my grandma to this day.

I encourage every one of you to think about who your mentor is and who inspires you to grow. Thank you.
