Eat Your Fill and Bless the Lord

When I saw the scriptures that were to be read today, I immediately noticed the theme of gratitude and appreciation for what God has given us. This made me look back and realize all of the special moments God has given me.

One of these times was about a month ago when I was at a movie with my friends. It was a film of a concert, so the whole theater was standing up and singing and dancing. I was there with 8 of my closest friends, all of us dancing and having a great time. As I looked around and saw all my friends, I realized how God has blessed me with these people. They have been with me through thick and thin, and gotten me through tough times.

One line from today’s lesson is, “You shall eat your fill and bless the Lord your God for the good land that he has given you.” This reminded me of how I need to be more grateful for the amazing things I have been given by God. And having this moment of realization and gratitude for my friends made me realize all of the other things in my life I have to be grateful for, like my family, my house, and my school. With my newfound respect and appreciation for the things I used to overlook, I have been able to be a better person and strengthen my bond with God. When I pray each night, I thank God for even the tiniest things that brought me joy that day, which has made my days better and made me happier.

With thanksgiving coming up, I am noticing little things that make me happy, and my bond with God is stronger yet. Thank you.
